My annual treadmill test
« on: August 16, 2009, 02:34:31 PM »
That Treadmill test I was to do last Friday?

The scan that preceded it  made the use of treadmill  a waste he said.  It wouldn't be readable.
Waited 15 minutes in his office for his comments.  The wait was tough.  I thought the worse.
He said my scan had changed, an "Atrial" (SP) valve was not opening as it did"  He said, "it's not bad"
He asked if I get chest pain or shortness of breath.  I said "no" to both.
I do aerobics and do get winded, but that is the goal. (recumbent bike)  I am not at the level I was a few years ago.  I am also older.
Still trying to connect with Dr. I need to know what I can and can't do, if anything.  I think He will say "whatever I want."  He did say this can change in 6 months (Improve) we will know.
He is seeking tests from my Internist.  He won't find out much.  My cholesterol has always been low. BP under control with a pill!  Those were his concerns.
I asked if some recent stress could be a factor. he said, "NO."

He said I will live to 100 ! and said "That's what i am paid for!"  So why am so I concerned?

Thanks Mikey.  I plan to hold him to it @O@
I went to a party yesterday at a film studio. Subterranean parking. Lots of stairs.  I felt it, but I saw everyone else did too..  The party "girl" was 80.  Most of her friends were old.
her daughter is a big time Chef in San Fransisco.  She hired the caterers, yes it was good!

They had a balloon artist there, he was good.  I told him Id have been arrested if I made the things he did!

LOL Mikey!  lol

Jerry, you always get worried with every test, it's normal to get concerned.
Sheesh, I freaked out over my last PETscan in July.
Took 'em 2 weeks to get back to me.
Usually I get results in 24 hours.
So I course, I got 'concerned' as you put it.  :o

So as so lucky to be exactly as you are.
Peace to all  ... Joyce

Its perfectly normal to worry when you get a test result back that isn't quite what you think it should be....I'm just gonna tell you what I've been tellin' my hubby....Your gonna be with us for a long long time...stop worrying....as long as your having your annual check-ups they will find what ever it is long before it becomes a big problem and they can correct it...

Apprehension is normal when submitting to any medical test. Before my knee surgery I had to have a chest X Ray and an ECG. I asked the girl who did the ECG "Please tell me I have a normal sinus rythm." It was normal. it is good to keep up your tests Jerry and I'm glad you will live long and prosper.

No Jim, he wouldn't do the treadmill test because of info he got on a scan.  He said the test would not work. would be "clouded"   Whatever it is I will overcome it.

Heard from the DR. at last (he was out of town)
All systems are fine, Thyroid, BP, Cholesterol no plaque, and blood sugar normal. O0

He said, "I wanted to make sure you were not a ticking bomb!"

I made a discovery at the gym today.  I forgot I am older and was targeting my former training rate!  Now that I adjusted, it was a breeze.
