I looked it up in two English dictionaries and a Spanish one and none of them had it.

Fetcheros are unique to Mexican resort towns. A fetchero is a young, good looking Mexican guy who knows how to charm women and dance. He is very glib and rolls his R’s off of his tongue. Because of his occupation, he usually has a little more coin in his pockets that the other locals.

He will prowl the town square in search of a group of American women or just a group of Americans with an obvious unattended woman. He will zoom in on a pretty but slightly overweight woman and very politely ask “What is a beautiful woman like you doing unescorted? May I buy you a drink?”

He will then ask her to dance and turn on the charm smothering her with attention and flattery. After a while he will tell the group “My uncle owns a bar where the drinks are stronger and cheaper, the music is much better and it is not far, not a lot Americans know about it, would you like to go there?”

Cheap, strong drinks, good music and local charm? They are already slightly drunk so off the go, following him like lemmings. It is not his uncle’s bar but they all know him and they put a glass behind the counter. Everytime this table buys a drink the beer cap or a chit goes into the glass for a mixed drink.

He is the life of the party and keeps them all drinking and dancing. When the night is over, he looks deep into her eyes and says “I must see you again, will you meet me here tomorrow?” She usually agrees dragging the entire group back there for several nights. He then goes to the bar and collects his cut. He “Fetches” business to a particular bar and makes a very good living at it.

I am just kidding you mi amigo, I don't actually think that you are a fetchero... but you might think about it.

Cozumel mi amigo. Blue water, great food and thousands of American tourists. If you speak good english you can make a very good living anywhere, they need english speaking people to work there. My good friend Felipe lives there. He can play the Doors, Pink Floyd, Hendrix, John Lennon, Bee Gees, you name it. Cozumel is a gold mine.

Howell, your avitar shows the photo of a striking young man.  We talked about that about a year ago - you are modest, but the truth is, you are a good looking man!
