Thanks to all for advice about which bio media filter to use. I cut up the black and brown Machine floor scrubber pads for my biofilter into 6"x6" pieces and they seem to be working well.

Why did you cut them up? Just a question. I use floor scrubber pads too but just layer them. They are so easy to remove and clean. I use a power sprayer.
