Back in the Pink
« on: October 05, 2009, 01:33:45 PM »
It has been nearly a month since the lightning struck and I finally have my computer back all repaired and upgraded.  That is not a reflection on my repair people as you actually have to take it somewhere before you can get it "back".<g>

Anyhow, a sampling of some blooms from today.

They are gorgeous Craig, I especially like the water color look of the first one.  Beautiful.

Still not exactly sure what the lightning hit except my computer which was on a surge protector and some other electronic gadgets....and I think it might have juiced the horse a touch thru the ground because she went absolutely bonkers.<g>  Maybe it is my magnetic personality, but over the years we've taken a fair number of lightning strikes.  My wife took a hit and I had one to knock me off my feet....so we are a little more cautious than we use to be.<g>

As for the lilies, the only named one is the last one and it is the one my wife selected to be her namesake.  The blues I like but they likely will stay breeders....and the first one, that is one of my favorites.  I just call it Funky Pink, but it never has tubered for me.

I still love N. 'Darcy Presnell' and hope to own your wife's namesake some day. I really like that unnamed deep blue as well, hope you propagate it.

Cheers,

I suppose I should start a new topic for this question but maybe you'll see this Craig.  What makes tropical lilies form tubers and is that essential to propagating them?  Mine have just formed small baby lilies but no tuber.  When I pulled them last week to transplant them and pull the small lilies, they were a huge mass of roots but I didn't see anything like the tubers on hardy lilies.  I really want to propagate these and share them with some of the ponders here but I'm unsure how best to do it.  Any advice would be wonderful.

o(:-)  The blue is definately my favorite.  I'd find a place for the aquriam in the winter for that lily.  Maybe on the top of the dryer...but no window in laundry room.

Absolutely beautiful! The blue one is my favorite and the 3rd and fourth ones are too!!!  The first one is pretty - reminds me of my climatis blossoms.
