Pleoblastus verdistriatus.

Spectacular chartruse color.

Nice shade of green.  I am trying to kill off my black bamboo as it was too agressive.  I'm growing cuttings from my painted bamboo to replace it with.

Time for "Round-Up" Mike!
re: my bamboo.  They actually mow it in Minnesota!

I though Black bamboo was prized.  maybe you should sell it on Craig's List, or at least sell as "You Dig!"?

It is nearly impossible to dig up Jerry due to it being so rootbound so I didn't even offer to give any away.

RoundUp is exactly what I used.  I cut the canes down near the ground last year and poured undeluted RoundUp into each cane.  Green foliage has popped up in a few places and I sprayed it with a strong solution of RoundUp.  I have a 2' deep root barrier surrounding the black bamboo but that stuff is so aggressive that it went under it in several places and that is why I decided it had to go.
