Fabulous REDDAD but let me ask you, did you use treated lumber and how long has it been in place? I want to deck out my pond with treated lumber but a book that I have said that the chemicals would leech out into the water and kill your fish. They recommended cedar or cypress that was natural and rot resistant, is this true?

Looks great, Red.  Wish I had a pond that big.  I especially love the deck right over the pond.  Your fish are HUGE.

Thanks guys/gals. I guess I forgot how to post pictures. Thanks for taking the time to click on the links though. I will ask my son to help me out. (crazy sounding but yes our kids know more than most of us) lol

The pond is a rounded 13' x 18' approximately 5500 gallons. 5 and 1/2 feet deep. I have 8 koi in the 15 to 18" range 2 shubukins, 1 comet, 2 goldfish, 3 sarassas, and 5 5" koi volunteers from some plants I bought. Its got a boggy filter in and at the bottom of the stream on the right. I have 2 55 gallon gravel and sand filters with a third built but not hooked up yet. I went through the first summer ponders blues (greens) and my first winter. After a cuple of bad calls on my part I think we've made it through and learned many things along the way.   ;)

Bullfrog the deck is pressure treated. I had a pond with a deck around it for years down in Florida with no problems. I will be staining it soon to match the porch.

Almost all the plants in the pond and bog were purchased from American Ponder members. I would like to thank Barb Lawanna and Kat for a great bunch of plants at a great price. More than I could even have imagined.

I will try to get more pics loaded and viewable without having to click a link.

Thanks again, Jim
