Walmart usually carries them in red/green, pink/green, white/green for pretty cheap prices. Not sure when they are in season, but they always carry them each year.

I got a three bags (different types) of them from Walmart this year. They are just bulbs but you get 8 for $5. Mine have been planted for a week with nothing happening yet, but it has been a bit cool for them since I planted.

I did tht last year with walmart bulbs, which I hear are grade c, I planted them early in the year, got no life till about June, could have been my poor soil though too, I just thought I'd see them sooner considering I am in ca

I wonder what grade C really means. Small bulbs? Genetically inferior varieties? I tried them last year, but planted them way too early and only a couple came up and didn't do much. I am giving them another try this year and will remember to dig them up in the fall. I plan to start them earlier inside next spring. I am disappointed to hear you had a late start in California, makes me think I have little chance in St. Louis. Maybe I had better restart them mid winter so they are ready to plant by late spring.

I just buy the plants already grown out and pop them into the ground. I don't mess with bulbs, they dont' do well from me in general, the squirrels keep digging them out and eating them!
