We make Dilly Beans from the Ball Blue Book, this recipe is very similar, just smaller quantities. I could not find the Ball one online.

DILLY BEANS

2 lbs. green beans, trimmed
1 tsp. cayenne pepper
4 cloves garlic
4 heads dill weed
1/4 cup canning (pickling) salt
2 1/2 cup water
2 1/2 cup white vinegar

Pack beans, lengthwise, into hot jars, leaving 1/4 inch head space. For each pint, add 1/4 tsp. cayenne, 1 clove garlic, and 1 head dill.

Combine remaining ingredients and bring to boiling. Pour boiling hot over beans, leaving 1/4 inch head space. Adjust caps. Process pints and quarts 10 minutes in boiling water bath.

Yields about 4 pints or 2 quarts.

I personally, don't like them but everyone else does....

I'm gonna make a new one next week.
Take a couple cans of water chestnuts, some chicken livers, wrap them in bacon. About 1/3 strip, dip in a mixture of:

worchester or soy sause
salt
lemon juice
brown sugar

Bake till  the bacon is brown and serve.
Should be interesting,
Steve

Fruit Cake!!! >:(- NOOOOOOO! I make Church Window Cookies for the holiday. They are chocolate melted over colored marshmellows and pecans rolled into logs and cut into slices.

Eagle Eye, I could eat the whole pan of those bacon wrapped chestnuts. They are so yummy. Here's some links to sites that feature "gifts (recipes) in a jar".

I usually give Almond Toffee that I make.

If I can remember to do it, I like to start Brandied Fruit during the summer and in November I would make these brandied fruit spike cakes and give. People loved them but I just have a hard time remembering to start the fruit for them. ::)

Shanna, put it on your calendar to transfer to next year's calendar. Oh mercy, thanks for reminding me. I have to make family calendars for next year. I started and then got sidetracked.
