3 Baby Ducks this morning

Thought I'd check before I left for work this morning and sure enough, 3 little heads sticking out. Mama always covers the eggs with her down before going out, but with 3 hatched, left them uncovered. She never leaves for very long.
Hope they are still there when I get home tonight.

There are 9 eggs total, same as last year. She doesn't leave for the river with them untill they are all hatched.

I'm sure this will be the last picture. This morning, 7 babies in the pond, mama very unhappy about me being there, and two eggs unhatched.
She was in the pond with them when I opened the door to look, but got out right away. I took my pic and left them alone.
They will be going to the river today.

That means that this weekend I can go in the pond, pull up my lilies and repot-------- @O@

That is just awesome Steve!  I love the picture of them covered in feathers with their little stripey heads peeking out.  Kind of like a mom rabbit covering her babies with fur.   :hug:
