Helping with a Boxer Rescue sale tomorrow
« on: June 03, 2010, 09:45:34 PM »
The dog Boxer...not people boxers. lol Some of you may remember the Boxer, Joey, we fostered then ended up keeping. Then he died unexpectedly last August. We adored hiim so much we adopted another one from this rescue group, it's actually our daughter's so lives with her but this is his second home. They're having a garage sale tomorrow to raise funds for vet bills, etc. I donated 60 gallon size perennials and raspberry bushes I thinned from my yard and other odds and ends and will be donating my time at the sale. Hope it's a big success!!

Good luck Cath--these rescues are such a worthy cause!!  Let us know how it goes.  We have a group that does auctions and when people share plants--well, they go like hotcakes!!   O0

Good for you!! It's so wonderful to see people take action for these animals and it takes so little to make such a great difference.   o(:-)

Wonderful! Good luck with the sale.

I'm going to be spending Sunday in the basement digging out things to donate for our local Humane Soc. yard sale next weekend.

Great idea to donate plant starts.  I wouldn't have thought of that.

The sale went well.....so well we decided to go for 3 hours again tomorrow. By 3PM we had made over $400. My plants sold well and I got a mail from a lady who saw our ad on craigslist saying she will buy whatever raspberry bushes are left over.
Yay!!!!

Good for you!  Rescue groups are the best!

I do horse and kitty rescue and am very involved with our local low cost neuter/spay clinic!

Whenever I feel blue, I start breathing again.

Wow!!! The rescue earned $147 just from my donated plants......PLUS.....I have mails from 3 people wanting to buy some of the rsapberry bushes. These are all volunteer plants so just by taking a little time to dig them up and pot them the rescue is getting some unexpected money. So tomorrow I will be digging up more to fill these 3 people's requests. They sold for $3 each and between these 3 people I should sell probably about $120 more.
OMG....I'm so thrilled. I hate to toss plants and this rescue is the 1 we got our daughter's Boxer from so it's so cool to be able to do this.
