"Ignore User" feature added - All members encouraged to consider this feature.

I have added the Ignore User feature to this forum as it seems some people can just not get along.

To use this feature go to your own profile. Under the Modify Profile tab there is the "Ignore user options" link. Select this link and add the names of the people you would like to ignore. If you are adding more than one person, you will need to make a space with the enter button and then add the next name. Each name you add will require you to click the "Change Profile" button.

Another way you can add a user to your ignore list is all members will have an ignore button under their user profile in their post.
If you are not ignoring a member the button will look like this   If you are ignoring a member the button will look like this
To simply add or remove a member from your Ignore List just click the button.

Jerry and I have enough on our plates to be distracted by members who just do not get along. If you can not agree with another member, I highly advise you add them to your ignore list.

What a funky neat feature, but it's too bad it came to this.  I sincerely hope we can go back to having fun and stop giving our admins mini-strokes all the time    Thanks again for letting us play in your sandbox!

Wait, does this mean the PMs won't go through or the posts won't show from the ignored person? Like if I were to send a PM to a person trying to ignore me, would my PM be blocked?

I think this was a great idea! It would still be nice if everyone could present their opinions and beliefs, debate and stay civil, respecting everyone's opinion I know it is very hard sometimes!! Although I missed the "post form #%)#" seems like it was pretty bad and caused the admins way to much stress! Thats just not right....I hope members can use this to avoid what they don't want to read/see....

Note... you will still see anyone's name on your ignore list, but their comments will just read "This poster is currently on your ignore list."

Sean, a suggestion...

On the first sentence of this thread, perhaps you could phrase it something like "...for those who choose to use it," because the part about some people not getting along ... if it were read by someone first visiting AP for the first time, it might make him think that this site is full of mean fighty people, when, indeed, it definately is NOT, so we want first time people to find us welcoming and fun and want to join us. 

Besides, by now, everyone IS getting along.

I am glad to say we have been "smooth sailing" ever since.  A few, were, sadly, banned.
We do have a fine membership.  I see other forums where turmoil is the rule.

Yes I love the ignore. But now there is no one to ignore anymore. All of our members are nice and courteous and no attacks on anyone. Thanks to all members.
