Another What is this Question
« on: June 29, 2010, 06:37:50 PM »
I was sitting by the pond today when I saw these weird leaves sticking out of the water.  I couldn't see under the water because of the ripples and the way the sun was hitting it so I got the genius idea to get out my underwater camera (don't know why I haven't thought of it before).

Is this a vivip? If so, should I just leave it or do something with it?

Follow the stem to the parent plant if it is still connected.  It does look like a viviparous start.  If big enough, pot it up but keep the pot closer to the water surface & lower as the plant grows.

There is never enough room for all of the water lilies that I want ;-)

I'm pretty sure it is connected to my unnamed yellow (of course, the only lily that I don't love).  I will check tomorrow.  How big does it have to be to pot?

Looks big enough now.  If you don't like the lily, don't feel like you got to pot it  ;)  Neat pic though.

I have a VERY hard time killing any plant! Maybe I can give it to someone else! :)
