A "round" and about
« on: July 15, 2010, 11:36:52 AM »
   ;D  Things are looking good today.  We've had more humidity than is normal for us and my lotus even looks better than normal, but no bud yet.   :-\

Just a few pics

Gorgeous display of so many lily blooms!  Do you have your lilies potted up or straight in dirt bottom?

My lilies are potted in dishpans with kittie litter.  I used timed release fertilizer, but they were slow to take off and I added tomato spikes.

I tend to overplant lilies like I do other pots.  I have 4 tuber in most of them and all the tubers had buds.  I discarded any without buds.

I did remove 2 dishpans this week that had no buds because the tanks are beginning to be over crowded.   {:-P;; {:-P;; {:-P;;

You have a lot of tanks, and a lot of lilies!  Are all those tanks outfitted with pumps and filters?  What is that white flower "from Kat?"  Is it a rain lily?

Beautiful Sue!  Everything looks wonderful and your water--so clear!   8)

The group of 4 tanks have no pumps or filters, but I do water changes every week or so and I do run the sprinkler across once a week.

Only the tank with the trash can filter has a pump and the biggest fish.

I love those big tanks. if I had it to do over again I think it's a good choice.  So simple!
Yeah I'd surround it with boxwood maybe.

Sue, have you ever wanted to just dig a big hole to put a liner in and do away with the tanks?
Happy ponding,

 ::)  I have never had a desire to dog a hole...that would mean bending and squatting and down on my old sore knees...NO NEVER, but I have no desire for KOI either.  I am definitely a water garden person!

the tank with the Colorados had 18 blooms today.  The water is really beginning to warm up now so I need to be doing more water changes.
