Blomming today
« on: August 18, 2010, 09:42:51 PM »
I was going to mow the lawn this afternoon but decided to take out the camera instead. Pete got a new zoom lens a couple days ago and it's been so busy this lately I haven't had time to take many photos, so the lawn had to wait until tomorrow.
Here are a few lilies and some roses still surviving after years of neglect. They just don't do well here without spraying etc.

This is Almost Black, a bit on the small side

Peaches and Cream a good bloomer here

Abraham Darby has a wonderful scent

Beautiful Maryvonne!  I'd rather take pics than mow too:  they are so sharp and clear!   8)

I'd rather do anything but mow!  Photos of your lilies and roses are beautiful.  Love the Peaches and Cream!

Thanks Ladies, playing with the camera was more fun but of course it's raining today so the lawn will have to wait a bit longer. I'm happy with the new lens. It is quite sharp considering it's a zoom and I can really zoom in on the lilies in the center of the pond. Peaches and Cream is a new favourite here. It blooms well. I need to sort through all the lilies this fall, repot everything and maybe even cull some of the non-preformers.
Hope you are all enjoying what is left of the summer.
