August is a tough month to lose weight....

Why?  Because my birthday is in August and I signed up at numerous food establishments for their freebies.....  Several restaurants offer the buy one, get one free birthday deals and we have eaten at a few of those already this month.  Others offer free deserts and such but I avoid those.

A few places offer the complimentary meal with no strings attached.  Today I got my free gourmet burger and never ending fries at Red Robin.  My favorite restaurant, The Claim Jumper, is also offering a free entrée to $18.....  I guess I will have to endure another free meal.....  http://www.claimjumper.com/menu_specialties.aspx

i've always wondered how my wife ,son , and i can share a 3 [app.] pound birthday cake over the course of several days and each gain 5 pounds . happy birthday .

Mikey, I feel your pain--my birthday is in August also and celebrating it means dining out, birthday cake--but I'm not complaining...I don't have to cook as much and I didn't have to bake the cake for ONE birthday a year!     It's harder to take the weight off in August cuz it's too hot here to work in the garden in the heat.  Although the last few days have been gorgeous, and tomorrow morning's low could be around 48 degrees!!
