Friends just bought a house with a spring fed pond on the property, totally full of lillies.  What could you use to get rid of them.  They are not interested at this time to have any in there at all.  Not even sure how deep the pond is.  Any suggestions are appreciated. The pond is about 1/3 acre.

Anything that might kill them would not be good in the water. I can only think of drainging the pond and dredging it out. Maybe someone else who has a mud pond can answer. Sorry I cannot help you.

They do sell herbacides for aquatic plants...I've been told they are safe for the fish but, then again I've also been told Algafix products won't harm plants or fish and I've heard more than my fair share of horror stories...I'd get ahold of someone from your state agriculuture office and see what they suggest...
