Finalized my family's Christmas gift today...
« on: December 19, 2006, 04:50:25 AM »
It's a 4 bedroom, 2 bath, 2200 sq. ft. home with a 2-car garage, new kitchen, formal and informal living and dining, and an awesome swing set in the yard. That's right, we will be a suburban family in Dallas on or before Jan. 10. WOW! The best thing about this home is that it is zoned for one of the top 10 (out of about 600) elementary schools in Dallas. We toured the school yesterday and were so impressed! The principal himself gave us the tour and there are only about 250 kids in the entire school. Quite a few of them live on our new street!

Here's the awesome thing for the kids in the yard. The home is complete with pet doors too....a dog is in our future this spring! Just heading back to FL this afternoon and gotta get packing and have our house ready to list ASAP!!!

NICE!!! O0
Beautiful fence too.
(I hate chain link.)

Can wait to see what you do with that clean slate of a backyard! :)

Clean slate is exactly right!!

The fences here are so different than any I've seen in Florida. Most are 9' here with electric gates (which this one has). Some are also quite ornate here as well. There is a newer red wood deck and a patio area off of the breakfast area. You can't see it in this photo but there is a massive pink crape myrtle in the center of the yard and that's pretty much it.

Here's another view (still can't see the CM too well here either):

The interior is beautiful, but I don't want to bombard you all with those photos.

The only thing I would update in this house is the bathroom sinks!

Another view of that gate.

Wow, awesome. Congratulations. Love that granite. Love the colored walls. That yard is going to be so fun for you.

Very house and ready to move. I like the decor and the yard is a clean canvas ready for you to work on. I hope your Florida house sells quickly and hope the move goes smoothly.

Good evening!

Thank you everyone for the kind comments. We heavily debated between the burbs and a semi-historic area close to downtown. As much as I wanted and older home close to work, I know this is the best choice for my family. Dh is planning to attend a university just down the road and I don't think I could get a better school without going private. I have friends less than three miles down the road with kids the same age as mine and the commute for me to work is only about 15 miles each way. Now I'll have to get cracking on a plan for that back yard! They do have a drawing for a pool that they will give us, but we would have to remove that crape myrtle, and I think my kids are too young for the pool. The boys tried to strip down and jump in some when we were looking at homes!

Today was a long day! After finalizing the deal on the house, we left Dallas and flew it St. Louis and then to Orlando. We just got home from the Orlando airport a few hours ago. Long day....

Thanks for sharing the pictures with us. We are just like kindergärtners. We work best with pictures.

You sure did snag a nice house. The chandelier in the dining area is just like the one my son has. LOL Nice counter tops too. At least you don't sound like there will be a lot of upgrading to do on the inside.
