I love the color too and three stalks of blooms is absolutely wonderful! I felt down inside the pot and it's in another pot inside this one, so I'll be able to repot it into this one and give it more room if it needs it later.

It's a Cymbidium, Louann, which means it grows in regular potting soil.
And it loves to be outside from early spring through late fall.
Full sun too. But can take semishade, especially if it's been inside.

Since I don't have full sun, semi shade will have to do . . . . .
I'm not sure if the outer pot (which is a really nice terracotta - like what we saw in Italy) has a hole in the bottom or not. It's in a smaller container inside it that is surrounded by floral foam. I figure that it can probably wait till spring to repot, or at least a few weeks. I gave it a bit of water today and plan on putting it out on the back porch tomorrow. It's been getting up to 70 or more during the day lately - not below 50 at night - unseasonably warm, even for us.

You killed daylilies? Don't feel bad. I killed some I got from Parks and usually I can keep them alive. Maybe we just got rogue daylilies destined to fail.
