spent the day in the garden
« on: March 12, 2011, 05:37:26 PM »
Finally had a day with no rain and it was GORGEOUS sunny day!  I got my lettuce and peas planted in the garden (well, really my DH did it, I'm too pregnant at this point to do much bending over), planted my window boxes and DH (with just a little help from me) pulled all the penny wort out of the filter. I'm sure it will come back in no time, but the roots were causing the filter to overflow out the back and the water fall was just barely trickling due to the pump having to be turned down so low.  Now there's a nice water fall and lots of dirty water that will hopefully clear up in the next day or two.

Welcome spring!! I love the sun!!

I think I have been bitten by the spring fever bug too!  I was outside all day yesterday picking up sticks and limbs around the yard from all of the ice we had this winter.  It was so nice to hear the sandhill cranes going over all day.  I don't usually plant my annuals until the first week of May, so I have quite a while to wait.

When is your baby due?  Keep us informed and be sure to post a picture.

pretty cold here but I did get out after work and cut out LOTS of black knot fungas from the plum tree with the help of DH.  I did get some loose bottom algae dredged out of the pond last weekend.....still lots of snow on the ground here so no planting yet.

Thank goodness no snow here!  EVER!  I get bugged when there's a little ice on the grass in the mornings.

Baby boy (can't think of a names, so I'm open for suggestions) is due on May 8th. They will probably induce me at least a week early though.  I'm 32 weeks.

The garden/pond was pretty much neglected last fall because I was sick, but I'm ready for spring, so I've got a to do list for DH a mile long!

Congrats to your growing family!  It almost felt like Spring here to untimely the rain moved in this morning.  I've been cleaning a bit of my pond plants and getting the shrubs around the yard trimmed back.  My veges garden is up and running now too.  Need to work harder between the rains!

Last Saturday was our only day of sun  >:(  It's been raining since and is supposed to rain for 10 more days. I'm thinking I might need to build an ark - the pond is full that's for sure!  I woke up this morning to patches of snow- SNOW in Cali- zone 9?!?!!?

We had lightening this morning before day light...only a sprinkle of rain and co-putt.  We've only had .20 inch of moisture so far this year.  Dry, Dry, Dry
