Is Dipel Dust safe for cats?
« on: March 20, 2011, 04:31:53 PM »
It has BT in it as per the bag, but it does not address anything about pets (aquatic or land).

I have a stray cat that likes to drink out of my ponds and I don't want to harm her.

My next female cat will be called "Whata Lily"!

Hello, I've used the stuff for years and haven't gotten sick.

On a side note, farmers use it on crops that are eaten by humans.

I would agree with Enzo also.  It is a natural product I believe (even though it doesn't sound like one  ::)) that uses a bacteria I think and it is safe for pets and humans.  Not so much for mosquito larvae.  Below is a paragraph I copied from Garden Web from a larger article.

Bt is a microbial pesticide, Bacillus thuringiensis, that comes in several forms. Bt 'Kurstaki', for example, targets needle- and leaf-ingesting caterpillars and it is the one we commonly use for cabbage loopers, imported cabbage worms, tomato hornworms, fruitworms and pinworms, corn earworms, etc. Dipel is a Bt 'Kurstaki' product.

Hope this helps.   :)
