Our house is pretty much in a direct path from Angel stadium, about 8 miles to the southeast, and the Goodyear blimp field that is located about 18 miles to the northwest.  Thus we are likely to see it if there is a significant event at the stadium.  Otherwise the Goodyear blimp tends to cruise about 10 miles south of us along the coastline where tens of thousands of beach goers will see their digital adds......and where the pilots can break out their binoculars and oggle at the girls on the beaches......  8-)~

Many moons ago, way back in the old BF days, he had connections and got us the opportunity to ride in the Goodyear Blimp.

The view was not much different than from a plane, but slower.  I don't remember much of the ride, besides sitting in fairly cramped quarters, alongside a friend of his from some life improvement group he participated in, and him having a crush on her and flirting the whole time.

I saw on the news today that a blimp has changed the name from GoodYear to LightYear for an animated feature, Cars II, premiere.  Than had to cost a bundle!
