Pressurized bead filters are a popular choice for use in Koi ponds thanks to a variety of reasons.  With so many options available on the market, many of our customers find it difficult choosing the best bead filter system for their specific needs.

Bead Filters are generally classified into two categories: (1) professional quality bead filters with air blowers included, and (2) economy bead filters not offered with air blowers.  An air blower serves as a media agitator, helping to remove fish waste and other debris during backwash.  This results in better water quality and less maintenance workload for the pond owner.

As you might imagine, professional quality bead filters are generally offered a higher price tag than economy bead filter systems.  The following charts are designed to help those interested in adding a bead filter to make an informed purchasing decision.
