Rainy vacation in Hawaii
« on: March 10, 2012, 02:00:49 AM »
We are in Kauai right now and today a local gal was telling us last night's rain was the most they have received at one time in 50 yrs. What the heck??!! Oh well, we managed to get some sightseeing in between showers today and tomorrow does look a bit better weather-wise.
On a better note, the hotel we're staying at has a HUGE Koi pond in the middle courtyard. The Koi are 15" and longer. Pretty fun!!

Yes, Mikey, snow is the reason we needed a break, compared to that rain is a welcome sight.  ;) It poured a couple times today but we were able to get sightseeing in in between the rain. One nice thing about Hawaii, rain doesn't usually last as long as it does in Nebraska.
Heading to Maui tomorrow, will be there till Thursday then we head home.
We forgot the camera cord for placing pics online so will load some when we get home.

I read about the rainy weather in HI. Quite unusual. Weather is not an issue about vacationing there.

you guys picked the rainy season.  I went with my Son once and we used the kayak as an umbrella on the beach.

Glad you're having fun!  I'm sure the rain is more fun in HI than the mainland  :D Lots of pics expected, ok!

Forget the rain - get in the WATER!

And if you know what to listen for, you can actually hear whales communicating with one another (sounds like rusty hinges).
