Escaping from the cold for a while....

DH and I are going to Hawaii. We were there shortly after we married and have always wanted to go back. Last year he chose a cruise for our winter vacation so this year I chose Hawaii. We leave next Tuesday morning and will be gone for 10 days. But why is it that you fly from Omaha to Chicago only to fly back OVER Omaha to California. Seems like stupid use of a few hours of our time but what can you do? Anyway...I'm SO EXCITED!!

Yes, airlines have some strange routes.  I think it all depends on where their hub is located.  In any event, say hi when you fly over California.

We have a 3 hour layover in LA on the way out and San Fran on the way back.
