Measured my Hyacinths they are HUGE this year
« on: August 17, 2006, 04:59:05 PM »
I've always had hyacinth, and they've grown well.  This year they have out down theirselves.  I measured them with a yard stick, the yard stick is on the top lip of the stock tank. Probably just a little bit bigger if I took them out of the tank to measure them.  The ones up front are almost 3 feet.  Its a shame, I couldn't get some to survive in the greenhouse this year.  I think I'm going to try it.  Oh, there in a 100 stock tank.

Jerry....they've been doing there thing for about a month now.  It will be to cold before long for them to mature.

Tink.....I started out with 1 piece this year, and just plopped then in the top of the 100 gallon stock tank bare rooted, that is used as my skippy type filter.  I was just trying to hide the top of it and they went crazy.  Thats all I've done.

The bananas may not have time to mature, but my wife would have cooked up the banana flower a long time ago.  ;)
Cooked properly they are delicious.  :)
