This lily by Garet Umeura is one of my favorites, It is always the first to start blooming in the spring and last to finish in the fall.

Nice Photo Shawn.  It has more of a violet tint than I remembered from your previous photos or is it simialr to Dauben in cooler water the highlights get darker.

Cheers,

Gary

See my tutorial here...  Tropical Waterlily Tuber Propagation
If you have hardies, it's even easier, snap or cut off new leaders with roots and repot.

Hey Gary,

It is a lavender-blue. It would have appeared more blue if the sun was on it. The sun had passed over by the time I took the photo so the blueness of it did not show up.

Sean,

Thanks for your tutorial, I have read it many times for several years.  However, this mother lily plant has a long tuber about 6 inches and 3 babies plants next to the mother.  I am not able to pinch off like my other lilies that I have divided before.  Babies are still small, too deep inside the tuber that are next to the main lily.

Thanks,

If the roots and pads are long enough, you can pry the plant out gently with a knife. If you are worried about doing this I would lay the tuber on it's side and let the plantlets root into a pot of soil and when large enough just break them off the main tuber and repot.
