JTP lilies
« on: June 16, 2013, 10:00:13 AM »
We've have a strange spring, cold one day and hot the next.  I received my lilies from Tmike the first Saturday in May and had the first bloom June 12.  My water just refused to warm up, although it is nice and warm now.

JTP #1

JTP #2

They all four have a bud up now.  I can't wait until they all have a bloom at once.

Yes, my water is very green.

That second one has a lot of petals, I am surprised Mike didn't keep and name it...

The colors are even 'more vivid' in person.  I think #3 is going to be yellow.

Bloom #3  My camera just doesn't do the colors justice.

All

I can't wait until they all have a couple of blooms open at the same time.

Very nice Sue, congrats.  Can't wait to more blooms too.....I got the mostly pink Just Too Pretty combo from Tmike also.  But my water is still too cold.  In my smaller pond the water is shallow and a new bloom is trying to make its way up. It will be the first bloom of the season here!

Sue, the way to get the correct color is to use spot metering and point the exact center of the image at the brightest area of the flower.  Press the shutter release half way down and that will lock the exposure while you re-frame the picture the way you want it. Then press the shutter the rest of the way down and take the shot. That will correctly expose the brightest areas of the flower so it isn't washed out looking. If the dark areas of the flower look to dark, then use "fill light" to brighten the dark areas and leaves.
That is how I take my pictures.

Sean, the JTPs ARE very good waterlilies. Similar to many of Kirk Strawn's and as good or better depending on what you like I guess. I just have lots of better ones and I have to make room. Get em while you can because I am about to negotiate several wholesale deals and I might sell them all in a week or two.
