My lotus is 'surviving' which isn't a small fete in itself.  Maybe I'll even see an aerial pad before frost.

Your plants look great, Sue. Beautiful. Your lotus looks good but I might make a suggestion. I know your temperatures get really hot.  If you have access to azolla or duckweed you might put it in that tub to help keep it from getting so much sun on the water. Also you might want to fertilize again if you have not already done so.

Thanks for the advice Frank.  I actually run the pot over with pond water every afternoon.  It is setting east of the filter and is in shade for several hours in the heat of the day also.  This is the most pads I have ever had all at the same time.  I can also see runners coming up in other spots.  I started it out in a mineral tub, but it just set there with one single pad at a time so I moved it to a smaller pot and it is doing better.  Maybe next spring I can move the whole thing to a bigger pot before it starts growing.

Those are fabulous lily pads. I wish I had all those in my pond.

Genesis 1:21
So God created the great sea creatures and every living creature that moves, with which the waters swarm, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.
