2015 AKJA National Champion

[HEADACHE]

The American Koi Judges Association held it's first Annual "National Champion" Award. Photos of the Grand Champion of each Show in the US was entered into this photo contest.

Grand Champion was a 84cm (33inches) Kohaku from the Dallas Koi Show

Reserve Grand Champion was also 84cm and was from the Orlando Koi Show

I do not know anything about show koi as I have always just had mutts, but those are pretty koi and sure look healthy. Were all of the koi entered Kohaku?

As they say, "The hobby begins and ends with Kohaku".

While Kohaku win more of the major awards than any other variety, they don't Win them all. Four varieties Won Grand Champion at Shows last year, they were, Kohaku, Sanke, Showa & Shiro Utsuri.

We Judged (Voted) from all the Grand Champions and four Koi received Votes. Three of the Final Four were Kohaku and one was a Sanke.
