Arisaema triphyllum | Bog Onion | Brown Dragon | Indian Turnip | 10_Seeds
$9.95
Here I am offering Seeds from Arisaema triphyllum, also known as bog onion, brown dragon, Indian turnip, American wake robin, and wild turnip. The roots must be cooked or thoroughly dried before being eaten. Calcium oxalate crystals give the horribly unpleasant feeling of needles being stuck into your mouth and tongue. Maybe this is the reason that this plant is so extremely deer resistant. USDA Hardiness Zones 4 to 9

Here it grows in the wild in the woods and is known as Jack-in-the pulpit.  Also, be aware it is toxic to fish.

By "not for long" do you mean because they leave of their own volition or because you're doing something to stop them?

Wish I could keep the RES that people give me, but the climate here is just too cold.  I now take them to my brother's place in Tennessee.  We built him a 6000 gallon pond and they do well there.  My turtles are all Western and Midland Painted.

I saw the video. Nice pond!  I meant the babies wont survive! I raised a few indoors but it got to be a pain.A few might as in the wild.

I envy your ability to grow such lush plants.  Those taro are really nice.  I can grow them in the summer, but have to overwinter them in the basement under LED grow lights.

Baby turtles are touchy.  I get some every year.  Sometimes most live; other years most die. They're so tiny when first emerging that the frogs in my pond can eat them, so when I find them, I keep them in an aquarium until they reach 3 to 4 inches in length.  They have to have ultraviolet light, as well as a heat lamp, good filtration, and a basking area.  I feed them Reptomin, Romaine lettuce, an occasional dried shrimp treat or dried tubifex worms.  Still, many fail to thrive -- just as in the wild.

Thanks Don, but that was how it was. NO plants now, at least not in the pond.  OH how i wish I did things differently. I have a big lot. Should have made the pond huge!
