Who is the smallest Lotus?
« on: March 26, 2007, 08:47:28 AM »
I know nothing of lotuses but now that I have a greenhouse to extend the season I want to try one but it needs to be really small. The greenhouse pond is only 24" wide.

I have seen the pics of Joyce's Baby Doll, is she the smallest?

Leeanne,

You will remember, I am certain, Yileen, who was a member of AWGS member.  I am sure he can answer your question.  His link is:  http://www.yileen.com.cn/english/bowl%20lotus.htm

I think Baby Doll or Shirokunshi are some of the smallest that are easiest to buy, both are white and tulip-shaped (if I remember correctly). I grew Chawan Basu in a small bowl container last year that is about 20" in diameter and maybe 6-8" deep. Good luck!
