The other day my Lexmark scanner/printer wouldn't work. I called support---got a guy that I had difficulty understanding and who ran me through some adventures. Didn't work. Called back, got a different guy, could understand better but when he ran me through some of the same things, told me it was because one cartridge needed ink, even though the color cartridge was only a few weeks old and couldn't have been out as I don't use it a lot. But I ran off to Staples and purchased one of each for $57. Got home, installed the new cartridges---still had same error code on screen. Called support AGAIN, this time got a guy names Sid and by the way they all had the same accent but Sid was good. Right off the bat, he asked me what the error code was which had been given to the other two also. He came back and said 1302 indicated a short within the machine and sadly it was dead. He then said that if I purchased a new Lexmark online from them, no shipping, and a 20% discount. So I told the lady what I wanted/needed it to do and about purchasing the two new cartridges. She told me of a last year's model marked down, added in the 20% discount, and then set up a way to get my new cartridges replaced with two that would work in my new machine. Today the cartridges came in the mail with instructions on sending back the new purchased ones.

Even though it took a couple of calls, I am very pleased with Lexmark's equipment and the way they helped me be aware of how to save money on my new purchase + not be stuck with the two new cartridges.

My Lexmark has lasted longer than any copier/printer I've ever used.  I will buy another also.
