Major flooding in the northeast
« on: April 16, 2007, 07:03:50 AM »
Boy, this has been a duzy of a storm. since yesterday (sunday) at 10am, we have had 8 inches of rain,. the lake i live on has risen 4 - 5 feet so far and will continue to rise until thursday or friday. just glad its not snow, if is was, it would have been 80 inches of snow. 1 inch of rain = 10 inches of snow.

i need spring in the worst way :)

I see that there is a big storm out there. Lots of places getting snow though.
You know what they say, April showers bring May flowers ;)

Hopefully you're high enough above the lake,

Steve

Hi Louis:

Haven't seen many posts from you...I thought you may be in depression with our extended winter!  We had some flooding here as the Brandywine and Delaware crested!  Does anyone know what Cubit is?

Hi Gary, nothing to really say. I lurk a lot. I looked up  Cubit also, i was planning on building an arc if the water did not stop rising. A Cupit is the measure from a man's hip to the fingers of the outstretched opposite arm.

I could see that they would have problems with antique boats. no two arms are the same.

Hang in there Lue, It's just gotta get better. I told my son in NY to build an ark cuz they got hammered with it too. Hope your high and dry from the lake!
I'm just happier outside!
