Prayers for hubbys friend
« on: April 30, 2007, 11:20:26 AM »
Hey everyone, I need to take a minute of your time and ask that you keep one of my hubbys friends in your thoughts and prayers. They build scaffold for a living and last night this guy was at work and someone above him dropped an 8ft. board many floors and it hit him in the head. Hubby did not find out until he got to work this morning and he is very upset and worried. The last he heard they are having to do emergency surgery to relive the pressure on his brain. So if you all don't mind just take a little second and say a little prayer and keep him and his family in your thoughts.
Have a blessed day

Thank you for your prayers and thoughts. They were not this high but here is an example of some of the heights they do.

Oh wow. That's terrible. It's hard to know how the brain will respond and takes so long to retrain when there is damage. I prayed for him. What is his first name?

I don't do heights at all. Well I do fly but don't like it.

His first name is Johnny. yes the brain injury scares me as well. I hope and pray he will come through it well. I have delt with brain surgerys in my family before and you are right it is hard to know how the brain will respond. and the road to recovery is long and hard.

Today they say he is opening his eyes, they told him to move his thumb on his left hand but instead he moved his whole right hand. I will post more as I here.

This pressure on the brain thing puzzles me, I knew someone that died of it some years back following a motorcycle accidient. I wonder why they cant just remove the skull until the bleeding etc stops and then replace the skull, I know it sounds gross but I am sure I have heard of a skull fragment being stored and kept alive under the skin of a person who was under going some fairly complicated surgery that required months to complete. Obviously it would some what more complicated than my 'picture' but still and all.....

Yes, Sean. I'm no medical person at all but there are times they do open the skull to relieve the pressure or for whatever reason and then patch it back together.

Update..
A visit to see Johnny shows that he is not doing well. The Dr. told his wife that he would never be the same. We are not sure he knows anyone. We are planning to go to the hospital this weekend and see if his family needs anything and to visit with him . So please keep him and his family in your thoughts and prayers still.
Have a blessed day
