anyone for yellow water Iris??
« on: May 17, 2007, 08:45:46 PM »
Mine is blooming right now. It's very pretty. It needs dividing really badly. Does anyone want some? Probably won't be able to hop in the pond until after this wekeend. Sunday is our son's high school graduation so I imagine I'm going to be pretty busy for a few days. I probably have enough for 3 or 4 people.

Some areas the yellow water iris is considered a noxious weed.  It is taking over the natural waterways and choking out other native plants.

Not in the midwest. With harsh winters most things don't become noxious.

Great, it's yours. Do you want a bunch? I have a tub about 3' square and want to thin it back so I end up with a little more than half of what I have now.

Will do. I'll hopefully get in to pull them out Mon. or Tues. I'll let you know.
BTW.....it's free. I thought I put that in the 1st post but see that I didn't. So it will only be the postage.

Tink,
Mine is in a plastic trough like container that I bought at Lowe's and is in the pond. I think the container is made for mixing cement in. It has started to grow out of the container. I don't do anything special to it. Haven't split it since 2 summers ago and all I do is give it fresh dirt and Osmocote when I split it.
