Afterglow and yard pictures
« on: June 10, 2007, 10:42:22 PM »
This is the only lily in the pond that still had its tag on it so I'm pretty sure it's Afterglow.  I got it from Van Ness.  I took this the other day when this was the first and only bloom, it's put up 2 more since then.

This is the bloom from a Carrion plant, gorgeous bloom but it smells like rotten meat and attracts flies.  I didn't know that when I planted it next to the patio  >:(-   It does well in a hanging basket so I'm going to pot it up and move it to the far side of the yard where I can see it but not deal with the flies.

We had some high winds a few days ago and I lost 2 big banana trunks, one of them had a bloom and forming bananas on it :'(  We tied up the other trunk with a bloom and it is doing fine so far.

The lily bloom is very pretty.  And what a neat bloom the Carrion has!  Very neat.  Sorry about the banana trees!
