Hollandia
« on: June 11, 2007, 01:16:10 PM »
Hollandia bloomed yesterday!:yahoo:
I wish some of the other lilies would get their roots in gear and bloom. The whites and light pinks are the only ones that have bloomed.

Here are a couple of shots of Hollandia and the stock tank where it lives.

Nice!!  Where do you get a stock tank?

You can get them at farm and feed type stores, Tractor Supply, and some home improvement stores like Sutherlands carry them.

This one I happened to buy at a yard sale for $40. :) O0 DH fixed a couple of small holes in it and painted it. :)

It's a very nice looking lily Shanna. Is it a good bloomer and what growing conditions does it like best. I think I might like to add it to my collection.

I like the tank too! What kind of paint did you use on it and is it holding up well?

Same question here -- what type of paint did you use?  How is it holding up?   I never thought about painting my stock tanks!

Hollandia has been a very good bloomer for me. Its in full sun all day and its been one of the first bloomers this year. Last year it bloomed regularly all summer in the kiddie pool so water depth doesn't seem to effect it much.

I just use Krylon spray paint. I think this was a color from their "Camo" line. I like to paint them because it just looks better than the plain metal plus it helps to protect them a little bit. I've got a couple other tanks that have been painted for two years now and they still look fine.
