Large tropical lilies, what is out there?
« on: June 17, 2007, 11:36:45 AM »
Hello All,

I am a new member to the Am. Ponders forums, but have started off with a bang and several purchases from members. I can clearly see that I will never have enough room for all the water plants I want, but will keep trying.

I am looking for N.'Floyd Wolfarth' and N. ampla, but have not found any source to purchase them.

So, I wanted to see what everyone would recommend as great "large" water lilies, in nymphaea. We will skip the true queen of size, Victoria.  8)

Cheers,

Jeff

There is one that comes to mind that isn't Victoria. N. gigantea. I've got seeds but no plants. You will need to ask Craig about them since he is growing them.

Happy ponding,
Scott

If you think that your question is dumb, imagine how totally stupid you will look if you don't ask it.

You can make just about any tropical water lily large by planting in a pot that is at least several gallons in size.

Wow, Vickie! I don't think I have ever seen Euryale Ferox in bloom.

Very nice, thank you.

Vickie,

The Euryale ferox arrived in good shape, leaves a little yellow from the trip.

Thank you,

Jeff
