What is this insect
« on: June 27, 2007, 09:02:35 AM »
I've seen them around before, and I've seen some very large ones.  I finally managed to get a photo of one.  The tail end is sure weird looking.......couldn't you imagine if it was really a stinger.

Ponds are like patato chips, ya just can't have one.

I've seen that, or something similar here too. Don't know what they are.

We have those here too Kim...not harmful, but freaky to say the least.  I love the tiny ( and I do mean tiny) wasps that lay eggs on the green horn tomato worms that try to take over my pepper and tomato plants.  When those tiny wasps are around, the caterpillars don't stand a chance.  Not a good way to die, but an effective way and I don't have to touch those nasty worms!  lol
