I was in the garden yesterday and seen this nest, I went out today to look at the nest and the mommy bird was there and we must have scared eachother and she flew right at my head.  Anyway one of the eggs had hatched and it looks like another has a crack in it. Isn't he cute  o(:-)?

It's amazing how they can hang with their mouths wide open for so long. Bring Me Food!

Do you know what kind of bird it is? We have House Wrens here that are so loud they will destroy your eardrums.

What great photos, Monica! Thanks.  o(:-)

cute in a cartoon sort of way i guess  ;D

excellent photos of a very cool experience. new life is always something special.  :)

however, you won't ever hear me saying the words cute and baby together about human newborns either. they're magical, but not cute. it's just as amazing how we turn out given what we look like when we start!!  :raining:

being a parrot owner, one thing that amazes a lot of people is that many birds, like my cockatoo, will grow to just about full size in the first 9 months of their lives.  The smaller birds don't live as long as the larger ones usually do, but in captivity their life span can nearly double.  My cockatoo can live to be 60+ years old, the oldest one I know of lived to be about 72.

And you should see a cockatoo baby...they look like little ugly pink pin cushions!
I'm broke and can't afford to pay attention, so you might have to lend me an ear.
