Photos of my pond :-)
« on: July 11, 2007, 02:26:01 PM »
My aunt has a pond and "cleaned house" this week.  She gave me four pots of lilies (two yellows, one white and one red) and two pots of aquatic poppies @O@  One of the yellows is about to bloom.  I wish I had brought my camera.  Her pond is amazing.  She has 24 inch long koi and fantails and black moors as big as my hand.  Plus the lilies were all in full bloom!  But, I forgot the camera.

Anyway...here is a couple of shots of my pond.  My non-aquatic plants are liquifying in the high heat and humidity and even the hyacinths are being nibbled by insects.  It looked prettier a few weeks ago.

Some of the comets.  And at the very bottom of the picture is the black and white spotted koi.

I just like this one....

Two of the comets in the pond.

Looks great Ruthie! I like the fishies picture too.
My plants are being nibbled by tiny insects too. Not much bigger than specks of pepper. they are everywhere.

Beautiful pond but what I really love is that picture of the 2 fish.  It's wonderful, you can see personality in their faces.  Very cool!

Very pretty, and your fish have very happy expressions.  And it looks like you have a nice, big backyard, too.   o(:-)

WOW your water is so clear.  I can't even see my goldies unless they come up to feed.

Thanks so much.   :)

We live in the middle of the swamp actually.  No neighbors except for some cows.  The water hyacinths, irises, sedges (and all the other plants in my pond except the lilies) are taken from my back yard....we are surrounded by water.

Nice.... We need to do a Pond tour and start taking ideas for/from everyones pond,  Maybe even have a contest by region, several people get together and overhaul a pond or beautify or add on to one and then submit the befores and afters (there is your contest Jerry) and in this case everyone wins....... 8-)~
