Now I wish he ate the bumble bee......
« on: July 17, 2007, 09:33:47 AM »
A week or two ago the fetching one saw our bullfrog leap into the air after a passing bumble bee, actually a big black carpenter bee.  He missed.  I commented to her it was a good thing he missed because that bee may have delivered a painful sting....

This morning the fetching one was again watching "froggy", as she calls him.  She saw one of my new wakin swimming around nibbling at some hornwort about 12-18 inches away.  Froggy saw him too.....  He leaped into the water after him but the fetching one couldn't tell if he got the wakin.  She didn't see it swim off and I notice he seems to have a pretty contented disposition this morning.....  Darn frog.  I've never eaten frog legs but they are beginning to sound rather appetizing....

Oh no!   :o  I hope he didn't get your wakin.

When I was 9 or 10, a huge bullfrog crossed the road when my father and I were driving somewhere.  He pulled over and had me chase the frog down with him, I had no idea why, but it was fun, and I caught it.  Then we took it home and my father cooked it's legs so I could have a taste.  I always felt so guilty about that poor frog.  And it did taste like chicken.   :P
