This Dragonfly seems to like my kids.  I had to take a pic of it.  It started out, my son was going to put this rod thing up.  It was a yard decoration that feel apart.  When he picked it up a dragonfly landed on the end.  Then it landed on his hand.  Today I was able to get pics of it.

I thought it was pretty cool!

How cool is that :)

Lately we have had some large ruby red ones by the pond.  But they are too fast and my camera is too slow!

way too cool. i once had a miniature frog of some kind jump into my hand from off a leaf and sit there for quite a while. it was a feeling i will never forget - even some 30+ years later!

That's so neat. I bet he was thrilled to have the dragonfly land on him. Very nice photos.

One landed on DH the other day. I have pics but they aren't uploaded. They like high perches to survey the pond from. Dragonflies are so cool. I don't think the adults eat though, they just mate and die. I think that is what Chet said. Wetbug, he is an aquatic entomologist. A pond bug Dr.

Being retired, I have the advantage of being able to take the time to idly sit around and watch them.  I have seen them leave their perch and snatch a flying bug and then return to the perch to eat it.
