Yellow Feathered Visitor
« on: September 15, 2006, 10:42:45 AM »
This little guy has showed up several mornings this week for his morning bath.  He's a nervous little fella and I was lucky to finally catch him being still long enough to get a photo.  I don't know what kind of bird he is and I have sent the photo to a friend who's into birding.

Hi Mike,

That's a Yellow Warbler. We have them here too in the summer and they are very hard to photograph. I've been trying all summer to get a shot of the ones in our waterfall. Great shot!
I love watching our birds splash and play every morning in our pond, but haven't had much luck getting photos.

Looks like what they call a pine warbler here . . . . . probably the same bird.  I don't see them in the yard, but there are a few in the park across the street.  Very cute birds.

I was going to say Gold Finch also, but I can see differences.  They look very similar.  The female in the Gold Finches are very dull, like so many female birds.

(Gold Finch)  Thought I would just post this pic for comparison, this one is a male.
