first bloom of the season - Andreana
« on: August 08, 2007, 07:33:39 AM »
this is one that is worth the wait. i really wish it would bloom more freely for me, but i do enjoy it when it does.

ok, these next three pics are fairly similar but i just couldn't make up my mind which one i liked best. maybe you could tell me which one you prefer as a photo.

N I C E !  I'm no expert but is she a hardy? - petals like one.  Looks like you'll be getting more!

I like the composition of the last photo.  But the 1st one has a nice reflection...too many choices of a beautiful bloom.

yes Annette - it's a hardy. at this point in time, any blooms i post will be hardies. i am thinking of trying a tropical or two again next year - maybe add some sort of aquarium heater to a tub or one of those thermoplanters.

the other bud coming up is moondance. there are no more for andreana at the moment. hopefully that will change soon as our temps are beginning to warm back up.

your assessment of the 1st and last photos is exactly what i thought. and then the middle one shows some details that the other 2 don't quite capture. just hope no one is too bored by the similarity of them. glad i'm not the only one that can't quite decide!  ;D

Those are beautiful! I like the first one the best, but the second one is nice as well.  The light in the 3rd one seems to harsh for me.

Nice shots, I'm glad it bloomed for you... here hopes for more soon.
I like the shot with the reflection but to get the reflection you lose some of the pop in the lily.
I use a polarizer on my lens for taking shots and use it for no reflections and sometimes don't to see the reflections.
The perfect shot would be a reflection and full saturaion of the rest but the human eye is much more discriminating than any lens combination out there.

Lovely lily Ed. I like the reflection in the first photo, but I think the second is the best photo.
