This hedge can be so attractive, especially as blue is a colour I am trying for everywhere I can. It grows like a weed however, and is so sticky, that after just innocently passing by, and looks like a furry blue snowman. Sticks to the dogs too, and hence my bed ends up as a gardening project too after they run indoors. Grrr.
Some years back, while doing plant research on the internet for unusual plants that would do well for me, I came across this seeming delight - Plumbago. An evergreen, with showy blue flowers thoughout the summer, a South African native that tolerated low water. I was in love. I ordered huge numbers of this miracle dreram plant.
Imagine my horror, when describing this 'find' to Sean, and he says - "But that is the hedge you hate". Tool ate to cancel the order, the package went straight into the trash upon arrival, without being opened.
