I really like the pink sedum behind the bench there ... I am going to need to put something back in there.. This picture shows the area to the very back right side of the pond that I am working on... thats the easier fence line...lazy

Your landscaping looks so lush, you're lucky! Have you thought about purple cone flowers (Echinacea) for that space - they have a long bloom time and similar color or how about garden mums (Chrysanthemum) for fall color. Both are nice plants but not exactly pond themed
. Astilbe would be another good choice and it loves moist, well drained soil although it blooms early to mid summer. Best of all I don't think bees swarm any of these flowers at all

Tink Your pond is absolutely breath taking! You have sure come a long way in a year. Your the pond does the world justice by running with the "Big Dogs" now.
I am pretty partial to purple cone flowers, brown eyed susans, and bee balm.

There are some very pretty geraniums that bloom all summer. Heuchera might work well too depending on the amount of sun that area gets. Maybe some other plants with interesting foliage.

Beautiful pond Tink
(check out the face in the waterfall. It looks like the one on the plant stand)

I think a pot of miniature papyrus would look great there too.
Something in a low wide glazed ceramic bowl of water. (12" deep by 24" wide)
Maybe a low wide bowl of mini water lilies.
Or both, a dwarf papyrus in back with a mini lily in front.
