A day in the life of an old friend
« on: January 23, 2008, 05:02:48 PM »
The old friend, is Joyce.  Remember the "bleeding black rose"?

Well ya GOTTA see this article: http://www.watergardenersinternational.org/journal/3-1/joyce/page1.html

Be sure to click on the picture of Joyce for a surprise!

Went to Microsoft Virtual Earth to see the layout of the BBG.  Go here to see a "bird's eye view"   http://maps.live.com/default.aspx?v=2&cp=qs9xj18v2tg6&style=o&lvl=2&tilt=-90&dir=0&alt=-1000&cam=40.624104~-73.968791&scene=1968572&ss=yp.brooklyn%20botanic%20garden~pg.1~sst.0&encType=1   Best to go to "full screen display"  You can zoom in and out and view from different directions.  It looks like "acres under glass"!  Nice outdoor areas as well.

BTW, you can tell her what you think and wish her well in her own battle here:  cadwoman@optonline.net .

Oh, by "old friend" I didn't mean to imply she is old.  Just that weve been friends for 10 years.  LOL!   o(

That was a nice thought by Joyce and a nice article.  Thanks for sharing.

While at a Christmas party last year the hostess, a former co-worker, kept introducing me to folks saying, "This is my old Sergeant".    I then asked her, "Who's your young Sergeant?"  We both laughed..

Thank you so much for posting that! I try to keep in touch with Joyce via email - she's still doing various surgeries, but the cancer itself seems to be under control, and she still has her great positive attitude. Hopefully we'll be able to meet in person someday!

I was just reading Joyce's post over on KPT about this article. She looks great and donating Pink Ribbon was a very nice
thing for her to do. O0

From what I had heard,  Joyce was doing well with no reoccurance of cancer. Sure hope that is correct. She looks great and isn't Jamie growing? They are a couple of cuties.
