Welcome Islandgirl. I'm glad that you are here too. Yes, check out the photo forum as well as the gardening. The best thing about this forum is the people. No bickering or conflict, everyone prays for everyone else and just lends an ear and support.

You will also get a lot of ideas on how to make things. Esther and Tinkster make a lot of really cool things from scratch as many do here. I've seen birdbaths made out of concrete and poured onto a large leaf so the bath itself looks like a leaf.

The backyards are incredible. a pond doesn't have to be huge, some are small, some are abouve ground. Look around, you will like this place.

Karen, thank you for your really sweet words. I am really humbled that you actually like hearing from a sentimental schmuck like myself. I pour my heart out and ramble a lot.

I'm hoping that Wolfmom will join us also soon. She raises wolves and is a really good heart.

Wait, let me run up to the top of the hill. There is a full moon. The elk are moving down from the hills, I can smell them.

I raise my head and let out a really long howl into the night. A lone owl perches on a branch and turns it's head.

Wolfmom is approaching, I can hear her.

Bullfrog, I heard your call, I'm here.
Hello everyone, my name is Wolfmom, Bullfrog invited me to join your group.
I'm a homemaker in Pinehurst,(Orange) TX. I live here with my wonderful husband of 35 years, and our two babies (and I do mean babies!!). The babies are a little unusual, as they will turning 11 years old this year. O'Sota is a male, 75% timberwolf, and Ayainna is a female, 70% arctic wolf. We have had O'Sota since he was 6 weeks old, and Ayainna is our rescue baby, we've had her since 2000. We also have 3 grown children, a son who's 34 and lives in Ohio. (We came from Ohio in 1994, it took us a while, but we finally made it!) Our daughters are 32, living in Denver; and 30, living here in Orange. Between them, we have 7 grandchildren ranging from 15 to 6.
I don't have a pond, and don't do much gardening. Ayainna would love a pond, I'd never get her out of it. She loves to swim. Seems like anything I plant gets automatically un-planted as soon as I turn my back.Wolves love to dig, especially if you dug it up for them in the first place. I may not post here much, but will check in as often as possible. I may throw my two cents in now and then, whether you want it or not.
Everyone that Bullfrog has recommend will be a bonus to your group. They all took me in on the other forum and welcomed me with open arms. I like to think of them as my friends. I'm proud that they accepted me as a friend.

Welcome Wolfmom!!  Usually our posting names (can't think of the correct term) reveal very little about ourselves but I've got to hand it to you!  :o WOWOW!  You actually are raising wolves!  You'll have to start a post sometime about how you started and photos too.

Wolfmom, its easy. follow these steps.

1. locate the pictures on you drive or disk and jot them down.

2. go to photobucket.com and get a free account. You will see a "browse" tab. click it and then go to where your pictures are. Double click on the picture and it will be added. you can do 3 at a time.

3. when you have 3 loaded click the "upload" tab, they will upload.

4. Once uploaded, under each of your pictures will be several "tags", one starts with "img" double click on that tag.

5. come here and write your story then put your cursor where yo want it and click. Bingo, you have a picture posted.

I didn't know bullfrogs could howl.

Lemme tell you the story. There is a local news station that has a forum where we all met. There was one extremely obnoxious person named Senobia Torres there. The administrator let her run roughshod over everyone.

She was really verbally abusive of everyone and extremely opinionated in favor of illegal immigration as her husband was an illegal. That is just the tip of the iceberg, she attacked anyone and everyone. When she had no ammo to attack your post, she attacked the poster.

Nit picking grammar and syntax, insulting, name calling and belittleing. The forum let it go on because it brought drama and viewers to the forum. I locked horns with her on a daily basis.

I post on four different forums but this one is in constant turmoil. So some of us left and made our own place. I was made an administrator there. We were viewed as rebels, outsiders and malcontents for leaving but our main thrust was that no personal bashing or flaming would be tolerated there.

We called it the Dark Side and adopted a wolf pack theme. My name there is Wolf. We are a pack. Once, two years ago my wife had to go on chemotherapy. I could not post for a while but the wolfpack theme played out.

I stayed near the den and brought her food. I could not post but the pack ran on through the night, we really adopted the wolf pack thing. When times would get really hard and she was really sick I would howl out into the night at our site and the pack would always howl back to me.

We are waiting now for her latest test results. She is probably going to have to go back on chemo in the next few weeks. I hope not but if she does I know that all I have to do is howl one time and my pack, my friends will surround me.

Bubbles, Bartender, Reesa, Alwaysomething (Mel), Rosebud, Zorro and the rest of the wolfpack will be there to pray for us. Now I have all of you fine people.

The power of prayer is amazing. I find it interesting that I pray daily for  people that I have ever even seen. Dana, Yorkies mother, Braiden, Bubbles. My internet family.

Anyway Esther, I got hurt fighting fire last night and it hasbeen 2 Vicodin, and 5 Rum and 7's to kill the pain. Forgive me for my words, I just don't want to go to bed rigt now.

The medication to relieve my pain is really working and I'm feeling kind of good right now. In fact, I'm buzzing which sure beats hurting. That will happen when I have to get up. My glass is allmost empty.

Ok everyone, here are some pictures of our babies. The dark one is O'Sota and he is a 75% timberwolf male. The white one is Ayainna, she is a 70% Arctic wolf female. The Native American Pictures were taken at a Pow Wow in Sandusky, Ohio. O'Sota is with the Tribal Medicine Man and the picture of the both is with a very nice lady named Silver Fox.

Thanks Bullfrog for the instructions, I think I got it right.  :D

Beautiful Babies Wolfmom.  Now do I call them wolves or dogs...?

Bullfrog those photos really made me laugh out loud!  lol lol lol  Is the cat in the 1st photo really experiencing the ride or are you really good at photoshop?  And the Babe on the wall with Ducky  lol reminds me of the baby backpacks I use to use, an absolute neccessity.  While my babes were in this carrier and I had to go to the bathroom I use to hang the shoulder straps over the doorhooks or doorknobs.   lol  Man those were the days!

Tooooo Fuuunnnnnny!!!!!  ;D

With three cervical hernias, one with the thecal sac against the spinal cord and one with the thecal sac into the spinal cord, and a good dose of gouty arthritis, I am in full agreement with and appreciative of Bullfrogs view of the therapeutic benefits of a good rum and soda for pain.  I favor a good dose of Captain Morgan’s Private Stock and Pepsi, but hey, that’s just me.  Sorry to hear of yer injury BF but obviously yer takin’ good care.   Though I,  more often than not, am too busy to spend time posting, I do keep an eye on the forum, and would like to welcome  all your friends.  I especially like to click on a persons name and scroll down to ’Show the last posts of this person’  in the Profile and  gain a broader view of the people here by scrolling through all their posts.  Some people have quite a few pages of posts to peruse through.  Anyway Gods Speed in yer recovery and thanks for introducing yer friends.

Paul  :)

Thank you miguynmkoi, we call them wolves. They are different from dogs because you have to treat them just as they would be treated in the pack. If you would hit them or yell loudly, they would lose all respect for you.  {nono} When they do something wrong, we start out by huffing at them, then growling, and if they are really bad, (which isn't often) biting. We bite their ear, nose or throat. O'Sota knows when dad (alpha male) is mad, to roll over and offer his throat to be bitten. And then they are just like little kids, loving on you and wanting to be reassured that you still love them.

OK, 9 beers and one Vicodin on board to relieve that pain so please forgive me if I get out of line. I am realy buzzing but that sure beats hurting. I can't get in to a specialist until Monday morning so it will be Hydrocodone, beer and rum until then but I miss my friends here too much to just sit silent. Again, forgive me.

Wolfmom, you did a great job with the pictures. O'Sota is a really beautiful dog and I have finally laid my eyes upon you my good friend. It is really good to see your face.
Here is Spook, our Siberian husky.

Come back soon Wolfmom and talk to us. The pictures were really great.

I loved the pics!  Do your wolves "smile"?  Many, many years ago we had a half siberian wolf / half malamute dog named Moon.  She was wonderful.  When she was happy to see you she would raise the front of her top lip like a smile.  She would also do something similar when she was not happy and growling.  I guess the difference I remember is that instead of the whole lip going up, just the front went up.  It completely terrified a couple of meter readers once, after that I had to be home for them to read the meter.  It's nice to think about her, she lived to be about 15yo.

Thanks Bullfrog, Spook is gorgeous, so many people would love to have eyes that blue. Your picture was great too, Thanks again.
And Jonna, yes they do smile. Especially Ayainna when she's getting her belly rubbed. We keep a padlock on the gate so people have to ring the doorbell attached to it. We do this for the pups protection, not people. The electric company solves coming into the yard by reading the meter with binoculars. The pups wouldn't hurt anyone, but they are thieves, and will steal anything the you lay down.
