Posting photos

Sometimes I just cannot.  Other times the same size goes "zip" and it's posted.
On the bad days even the 320 size won't make it.  Perhaps it's my computer?
Any tips?

Okay all I have a great tool for you , it is small and user intuitive. it is called VSO image resizer and it works so very easily.
http://www.vso-software.fr/products/image_resizer/ You can resize one at a time or select several right click on a picture select VSO and do a whole batch at once!! Trust me you will love it's simplicity.

Hi Andy, I think Jerry has that one already.  He's had this problem for a long time.  You're right about the VSO which I use when Sean posted it a while back.

I think I fighured it out.  When I resize I get 2 images, the new resized one and the old one .
I now do not see on the picture title the new sizes.  In other words it is not resizing!
Plan:  Remove VSO and reinstall.
Makes sense?

let me try this. OK it worked. What I did was click on an old photo that was identified as resized.
Conclousion:  The recent photos are not getting resized.

OR you could try the FREE Microsoft Powertoys Image Resizer...takes minutes to install and works for me every time.  Don't have to create an account at Photobucket, just the images on your computer.

I might have an issue that no one else has noticed.
Remember when I turned your picture for you a week ago that you were having problems with.
I downloaded it to fix it. I noticed when I did it and the one you posted earlier, they were both at 180 dpi.
That is 180 dots per inch. Computer monitors show images at roughly 72 dots per inch.
A 640 x 480 image at 180 dpi really equates to a 1600 x 1200 image at 72 dpi.
The website restrictions might be what is changing, resizing or sometimes turning your images to fit the restrictions.
If the website is trying to downsize it to meet a 72 dpi image it might cause some problems or it might think the image data is too much.
Check with Sean to see if this might be part of your problem.

It seems all computer problems work out eventually.
SEE BELOW, this is an old photo at 640X480 and it did fine.

Did this the old way with VSO and it worked.  I am wondering if it can be a particular photo with a problem???
